5 Herbal Remedies for Snoring

Immature bitter orange ( Citrus aurantium)

Immature bitter orange contains synephrine, which relieves nasal congestion by inhibiting the production of the allergins which cause inflammation, which causes the blockage of the airways.

Ginger Root

Ginger has been proven effective for treating snoring by increasing the production of saliva and coating the throat.

Eucalyptus oil

Eucalyptus oil, which contains eucalyptol, is an oil that helps clear up congestion. To relieve congestion, mix five drops of eucalpytus oil and one drop each of peppermint oil and lavender oil. You may also add crumbled eucalyptus, coltsfoot, peppermint, and comfrey. Place the mixture into an empty sock and tie the end closed. You can put the socks in your pillow case before you go to sleep.

Peppermint oil

Peppermint essential oil helps relieve congestion by soothing the respiratory system. Put three to four droplets of peppermint oil into the bottom of a bowl filled with boiling water. Breathe in the steam. Peppermint oil has also been found to be effective in treating sleep apnea.

Honey

Honey is an excellent throat lubricant and a good cold remedy.
